United Nations Security Council

Liam Pedersen – Chair
Liam, having participated in VYMUN over the past 3 years as both a delegate, and as a member of crisis staff, is overjoyed to share his experiences and knowledge of crisis with fellow staff and of course the delegates. Liam, hoping to make this Security Council even more interactive, educated, and enjoyable than the last, is ecstatic to work with the creative and informed likes of his fellow staff members Amir, Madison, and Angela. Liam understands that this committee entails hard work, lack of sleep, and inevitable crisis, but also knows that this council is centered around fun, enthusiasm, and leadership and wishes to use these aspects to make it the most enjoyable, and memorable Model UN the delegates have ever had. He takes pleasure in traveling and playing sport such as hockey, and soccer.

Madison Jones – Director
This is Madison’s second year staffing at VYMUN, and she is really excited to be helping out again. Madison has been involved in Model UN for four years at West Point Grey Academy and loves it! She recently went to New York with the team and participated at SSUNS in Montreal. Madison is a Chinese ginger who is really outgoing so feel free to ask her any questions that you may have during the duration of the conference.

Amir Sharif – Assistant Director
Amir is in his 11th grade year at WPGA and in his 2nd year of MUN. He won the most outstanding delegate award last year at VYMUN and has participated at SSUNS in Montreal and GCIMUN in New York. Amir is an outstanding paintball player and enjoys playing soccer. He hopes for all delegates to have as much fun this year as he did last year.

Angela Martinovic – Assistant Director
Angela is very ecstatic to be part of the staff at VYMUN 2011. This is Angela’s 3rd year being involved with VYMUN as both participant and staff. Angela has been to numerous debates and Model UN conferences over the past 4 years and has just recently visited New York to attend a Model UN conference, where she got the rare opportunity to hear Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon speak. Angela knows that this year will be another year of hard work and dedication being put forth by both participants and staff and cannot wait to see how it turns out. Angela enjoys spending her time volunteering, listening to music, and making new friends. If you are one of the lucky few that are in UNSC, then be prepared to be awesome and have a great time!
