The G20 is an international coalition of the top 20 global economies. The body serves to be an economic force on a global scale. Collectively, the G20 economies make up 85% of the gross world product and two-thirds of the global population. Decisions are reached through cooperation and discussion because all members have something valuable to bring to the table. The G20’s main goal is to reach economic security on a global scale. Enhancing global trade and addressing rising technologies are at the forefront of the political agenda for this upcoming conference and are pressing issues for all involved countries.

The G20 is designed for intermediate delegates. Although position papers are not required, they are recommended to ensure proper preparation and if delegates are interested in being eligible for an award.

Topic 1. Reforming and Enhancing Global Trade

Topic 2. Addressing the Rise of Digital Technology

Position papers are required for anyone wishing to be eligible for an award.
Position papers are due Friday, October 27, 2017.

Summer Bacon | Chair

19989022_472896926403730_1059725184_nHi everyone! My name is Summer and I am a grade 11 student from West Point Grey Academy. I am overjoyed to be your chair this year for G-20. My first Model UN was at VYMUN 2013 and since then, I have attended a variety of conferences. After four years of taking part, I have had multiple unforgettable experiences, in and outside the country, which would not have been possible without Model UN. Outside of MUN, I enjoy volunteering, baking or binge watching tv shows on Netflix! I am so excited to see you all and hope that you have a memorable time at VYMUN 2017.
